Forum Sessions

3:30 - 4:20 p.m.

#1 - Supplier Communication - Moderated by Jon Hellerstein and Michelle Baker

Come share your experiences on collaborating with suppliers or manufacturers of raw materials, purchased components, or finished products to ensure that Safety Data Sheets contain accurate and appropriate information. Let’s discuss effective strategies for communication throughout the supply chain, including both upstream and downstream interactions. We will identify challenges that SCHC members face and brainstorm solutions to overcome barriers to effective hazard communication.

#2 - PFAS Reporting - Moderated by Katie Dennig and Kim Reid

As regulatory requirements for PFAS reporting continue to evolve—driven by federal actions such as the EPA’s TSCA rule and state-level legislation like Minnesota’s product disclosure law—companies are facing new challenges in compliance and data management. This forum will provide a space for open dialogue among professionals navigating these changes. Join us for a collaborative discussion focused on real-world experiences and emerging best practices in PFAS compliance.

4:20 - 5:00 p.m.

#1 - Section 2 SDS - Moderated by John Howell and Alexis Wilhelm

Are you wondering how to respond to OSHA's new 1910.1200(d)(1) requirement to consider those hazards associated with a change in a chemical's physical form or hazards of chemical reaction products associated with known or reasonably anticipated uses or applications (Section 2)? Well, you're not the only one!  Others in our community are wondering the same thing! Come join us to discuss what we know of OSHA's requirements and how to approach determining (d)(1)(ii) hazards for our products.

#2 - Regulatory Research - Moderated by James Lee and Ari Lewis

As a chemical hazard communicator, what are your challenges and best practices for researching the relevant regulatory requirements in three major jurisdictions: EU, US, and Canada?
This forum will be an open discussion to help resolve some of our common challenges in following the ever-changing regulatory landscape for chemicals and provide a platform to share ideas, tools, and best practices learned to help each other. Additionally, let’s discuss how the chemical hazard communicators may effectively engage in discourse with the relevant regulators to create sound policies.
