Course Description and Objectives

The goal of this course is to develop an understanding of the principles of project management as they relate HazCom and stewardship.  An emphasis is placed on effectively leading projects, what differentiates project work from other types of work, and important aspects of working with and on project teams.  Hazard communicators and product stewards are often called upon to participate in or lead projects, and good project team members and leaders are always in demand.  This course, through lecture and discussion, will provide participants with skill critical to optimizing their effectiveness when working on a project.

This is a basic course and there are no prerequisites.

Intended Audience:

Hazard communication and stewardship professionals looking to strengthen their project management skill in order to be better prepared to participate in important projects.

Robert Skoglund, Ph.D., DABT, CIH, CPPS

Dr. Skoglund is the Director of Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs at Covestro LLC. His responsibilities include safety, compliance, sustainability, and stewardship for North America - including hazard communication and product stewardship.

Phil is the Director of Capabilities for Logisolve LLC.  With 35+ years of experience in program, project, service, and solution management and delivery, Phil works across and synthesizes Logisolve's consulting practices, engages in client delivery, and partners with clients, consultants, sales, and recruiting to deliver superior outcomes.  Phil presently serves as the Public Member of the BGC Board, the board responsible for the Certified Professional Product Steward (CPPS®) credential.
